Serious Passenger Plane Falls Out Of Sky, 62 Dead ~ Brazil

Vinhedo, Sao Paulo, Brazil
August 9, 2024

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas, confirmed that all passengers on board the plane that crashed in Vinhedo , in the interior of São Paulo, did not survive the accident. The city of Vinhedo also stated that there were no survivors [58 passengers, 4 crew], although the state government is still investigating the situation and sending reinforcements to the site.

In a statement, the City of Vinhedo reaffirmed the absence of survivors, while the government of São Paulo highlighted that it is mobilizing significant efforts to deal with the tragedy. “The Superintendence of Technical-Scientific Police (SPTC), the Civil and Military Police are mobilized to rescue the victims. Teams from the Legal Medical Institute (IML) and those responsible for collecting bodies were also sent to reinforce the work,” said the São Paulo government.

The accident involved a Voepass Linhas Aéreas flight, departing from Cascavel (PR) bound for Guarulhos Airport (SP), operated by an ATR-72 aircraft.

There are a number of other vids, seems everyone had their phones out, and I'm sure more will come. I'll pop up some images once some half descent ones are available.

Vid 1: This is 5 available vids combined into one, 4 of the plane falling and 1 of crash scene.

Vid 2: Falling from sky.

Vid 3: Crash scene.

Made in China. They ordered it off of Temu..

Yes, she went into a flat tail spin - no recovery from that. And it did a nice belly flop too...

Vid 4: Scene from the air.

Info from a pilot who has flown this plane (Denys Davydov)

"A [super] deep stall spin in an ATR-72 occurs when the aircraft enters a high angle of attack, typically during low-speed flight phases like takeoff or landing, causing a stall.

In this situation, the aircraft's nose remains pitched unusually high, and the wings stay in a stalled condition.

Due to the design of the ATR-72, particularly its T-tail configuration, the horizontal stabilizer can become blanketed by turbulent airflow from the wings, making recovery difficult or impossible, leading to a dangerous and often unrecoverable spin."

True but this plane wasn't being used to attack anything... atleast I hope not. Mechanical failure or birds maybe caused the stall & pilot unable to recover. Design of the aircraft may have played a part of lack of recoverability but then you gotta ask why tf would they build any passenger planes like that in the first place I guess let alone fly around in them repeatedly.

In this vid, Denys talks more about the plane, its history and why it crashed (for those who are interested, lol, it's long.

"Angle of attack" is a common aviation phrase...simply meaning "approach nose pitch".

I don't think that is the tipe of attack he is talking about... in aviation the angle of attack is your nose pitch... but shit I'm not a pilot...

Pitch of the nose of the plane is even better than throwing the word attack in there too. Why not say that? 🤔 It's exclusive to non-aviators then & just confusing imo. 🤷🏼‍♀️

It was older and had props. It's like an old bus with wings. They don't last forever.
I flew only once in a prop plane, not jet engines, & it was scary. Never again!
