Serious People who cross on zebra crossings (don't know the American translation for zebra crossings)

In Europe they teach you as a kid to wait at the crossing until cars are stopping for you, then you proceed. Then you get older and don't have time for that shit.

Most people do though, very wary of zombie motorists. At least that is what I notice when driving around in the city and suburbs.
And the cars do too.

So when someone crosses on the zebra crossing its their right of way (and I get that)

But what I dont understand is people that see you coming, head then down like they haven't seen you and proceed to walk out in the road and expect you to stop for them.

Again it's their right of way but what people don't seem to understand if im not concentrating im going to run this person over!

It'll be my fault but all I'll get is a fine and a dent in my bumper but they can potentially have life threatening injuries or die!

Why do people risk it!?

It's called stupidity.

If you really want to run someone down come to Penn State University. Those students run around like roaches there.

I'm due for my Oktoberfest trip up to the Moshannon and Quehanna wildlands. I stay at a cabin on the Little Medix, go to Straub in St. Mary's, walk around Bilgers Rock and the old Curtis Wright Nuclear Propulsion test grounds up off the Quehanna highway. Our Mountains kick fucking ass.
