Police Phoenix Officer Fatally Shoots Knife-Wielding Man After Bike Stop Turns Violent

🇺🇸

On August 31, 2025, around 1:00 a.m., Phoenix police officers patrolling near Hermoso Park attempted to stop 36-year-old Efrain Hidalgo for riding a bike without a headlight.

After initially evading, Hidalgo stopped but then dropped his bike and tried to flee. Bodycam footage shows an officer tackling him, leading to a struggle where Hidalgo pulled a knife.

One officer, a two-year veteran from South Mountain Precinct, fired nine shots. Hidalgo collapsed and later died at the hospital.

Aw, fuckin’ hell, he was still kickin’ after those 9 bullets, proper overkill that. Don’t go pullin’ blades on the coppers, fuckin' dumb, yeah, but reckon 2, maybe 3… rounds would’ve done. American coppers are pure loony, lad.
