Rabidity

Lurker

This woman from nepal was bitten by a dog 5 days earlier. So she went to the hospital and they suspected rabies. the thing about a rabid person is they seem just like any other person except there are a couple of tests that can be done on them to reveal they are in fact not a person anymore but they are a rabid animal. What i mean by not a person is the virus once it gets into the brain it controls the person. the person is able to respond to certain things but as this test demonstrates the person is rabid and if you listen as they hand her the water she starts to growl a bit in the beginning part. They hand her this water and hydrophobia is the first symptom that one is too far gone to be helped or to far gone to get vaccine. The reason she doesn't like the water is because the virus makes the throat swell and hurt, so when she see's water she feels like she is drowning because her throat is swollen. It harms her to just look at water because she associates that with swallowing. So although this may seen like they are hurting her by showing her water, in fact this is a last ditch determination to see maybe if she is able to drink water, they can vaccinate her and try to reverse the rabies spreading. You can see the nurse walk in and the moment she see's the lady refusing the water and holding her throat she walks out. The other test is acrophobia. Thats simply if someone blows on her face she jerks back and hides her face from the air and that also is a symptom she is rabid and just some odd side effects of being rabid but symptoms she is not what she was she is now under full control of rapidity. This case they sent her home because she was too far gone and she has about 3 to 5 days from the point she has hydrophobia. When you hear about foaming at the mouth, that simply because swallowing hurts very much so they spit out the saliva, so the foaming at the mouth is a symptom of hydrophobia. After that stage they just calm down because the brain swells so much they suffocate. So this lady died about 3-5 days after this video was taken.

The second video is the same test being run on a small child from Pakistan and you can see his father is kind of smiling because he cant understand why the child is in so much discomfort over drinking water but at the end of the video he kisses his son and the doctor scolds him and tells him to wipe his lips and then you can see the fathers face as reality just sunk in in that moment that in fact that is not his son he just kissed it a rabid animal that may have infected him.

That made good reading & the vid was interesting to watch :approved:

Didn't know that your fuckin throat swells up and drinking is difficult, hope that they put that rabid dog down. Wonder how the kid got it.:coke:
hydrophopia=rabies

There fearful to drink because it is painful. It cause spasms in the throat. There are many great videos of rabied people. It is very common for people to die in the hospitals of India and Asian counties as it is treatable only before a certain period which nobody gets treatment there as they live far from help.

There's this procedure called the Milwaukee Protocol where they chemically induce coma in a Rabies victim and treat them with antiviral drugs.
Wisconsin Rabies victim Jeanna Giese was the first Rabies survivour using this method after being bitten by a Bat she had picked up.

I think she is the only on that got cured. I think they stopped the Milwaukee Protocol and said it was a failure.
