The Unknown Soldier was really good. It's worth it, even having to have to watch with subtitles.

True gore artist.
The breath. 2009. Turkey.
Has a 'full metal jacket' style opening/training at the start.
But when they go to a remote base high up in the mountains, with only themselves to rely on.
No back up.
The film gets a real intensity. The PKK launch a massive attack at the end, and it was is intense. No dramatic soundtrack, no heroics, happening at night its mainly lit by gunfire.
Easily one of the best moidern war films iv seen.

No.Ive been lazy.I have watched one.Escape From Sobibor which is quite good.I will try and get some time to start watching all of the movies mentioned here.I will start from the beginning.Hell,might as well start today.YouTube can be quite boring sometimes lol
Looks like it's Breaker Morant which I did start watching but just got bored.Im giving it another try.

Next up is The Longest Day.Breaker Morant was a different movie for me but overall,not bad.Ending was good.Thank you to the person who recommended this movie.Im skipping Full Metal Jacket as I have seen it already.Good movie.Second half a bit boring but definitely a classic
I apologize for not getting into these movies sooner and giving my honest opinion on them.I appreciate everyone who has contributed to this post whether or not it was a movie suggestion or a comment.I owe it to you all to at least watch and respond to these suggestions.And as this I believe is my first post,I thank you all.How I am going to proceed is as follows.A movie a day if possible.Series will take longer but as i get into some series and get addicted,they may go a few episodes a day.We shall see.Now on with the show!!!

Watched The Longest Day.Long movie lol.I enjoyed it.Amazing how nobody sounds like John Wayne.Loved the para drop.Overall,a good movie.Great shots in places given when this movie was made.The Train is next.
Really good movie about child soldiers, unique perspective and lots of hard truths about war

Come and see is definitely an awesome, albeit fucked up movie.
Apocalypse Now, just a great classic. Heart of Darkness, the book that inspired the movie is a great read, covering the atrocities of King Leopold and the Belgian Congo.
Andersonville, pretty good depiction of the civil war.
Team America World Police, not really a “war movie” in the traditional sense, but classic nonetheless and fucking hilarious!

‘Hell is for heroes’ is one of my favs. It’s an old black and white one with Steve McQueen about a bunch of American guys that wake up on a defensive line that their buddies had pulled back from without letting them know. They are stuck there trying to put up the best fight they can while also attempting to appear more numerous than they are. Pretty cool concept.
Another underrated one I didn’t see mentioned is ‘When trumpets fade’- it’s about a guy who’s determined to make it home, who ends up being promoted against his will and sent right back out into a meat grinder only he knows the full extent of, but now with men to look after- a responsibility he doesn’t want. It covers topics that I’d imagine some people don’t want covered but were nonetheless present in the army like cowardice, friendly fire, and negligence on behalf of high command. It paints war as a gritty struggle for survival that just as often sees our guys running for their lives as it does the Germans and not some hour long heroic sequence of badassery.
‘Thin red line’ has got a whole bunch of famous names in it. Takes place in the pacific. Again no glory, just a bunch of terrified young men taking cover in the hills and in patches of tall grass as jap machine guns rain hell on them. A fair chunk of the movie is overcoming a single obstacle which I also find to be refreshingly realistic.
‘Anthropoid’ is about the true story behind the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich in 1942 Prague. They called him “The man with the Iron heart” Which I think is easily one of the coolest nicknames ever.

If i dont see ugly, how to know beauty.
One that makes me nightmares is THREADS. Was it a british ”dokumentary”style made fictional nuclear war film, in 80’s. Extremely realistic. ( And possible to happen even nowadays)
