Roadkill meat

Not something I believe I'd be able to do.
The concern in my opinion would be to not fully know of how and when the animal died.
Is the animal diseased? I know they do say up to certain degrees, it'll kill all bacteria Etc.
But....look at fish and the concern with mercury poisoning, maybe that is different.
Or eating a deer that has Lyme Disease from a tick. I'm not an expert on this type of thing...it just seems like this would not be a safe way of obtaining your meat.
