Idk if they were afraid of him, I mean everybody who had contact with that regime did I guess. They were allied with them starting early in the Iraq war. I think before but we don’t know that. After 9/11 when even Pakistan and Saudi Arabia were arresting these people Saddam was letting them into Iraq territory.
