How long ago was this, nowadays I can see the guy getting flayed in the court of public opinion for shooting unarmed people robbing his house. Ridiculous, but depending on the state I can see it easily happening.

Especially here in Louisiana but our neighboring state Texas ,he would get away with it.

The piece of news said otherwise. DOA says she wasn't, and maybe so. Would have to do some research on that and honestly does not interest me enough to dedicate any time to it. Still I am very surprised the old fart didn't get charged. Even when applying the Castle Law you can't shoot someone in the back that is running away from you and play the I was in immediate fear for my life card, besides the added bonus that she wasn't even armed. These laws leave a lotta wiggle room on both sides.
