Full quote:

"Los Angeles, California — On September 14, 2025, at approximately 10:46 p.m., Hollenbeck Area Gang Enforcement Detail uniformed officers were driving in the 2400 block of Boulder Street when they encountered the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Francisco Garcia, in possession of an open container of alcohol. As the officers attempted to contact Garcia, he fled, and a short foot pursuit ensued. Garcia ultimately fell while running between residences and produced a handgun from his waistband area, which resulted in an Officer-Involved Shooting. Garcia was struck by gunfire and was taken into custody without further incident. The officers rendered aid until the arrival of Los Angeles Fire Department personnel. Garcia was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. A loaded 9mm Taurus pistol, with a seated high-capacity magazine, was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence. No officers or community members were injured during this incident."

i dont agree with this for one reason only, dude never should've been stopped just for having alcohol, and sadly he has to run, you cant legally carry a gun on you in LA anywhere, and trust me there are parts you really need to if you want to survive and stay safe.

though he does deserve to get shot for pointing the gun at the cop (after he fell he shouldve just gave up instantly) i really just dont think the cops even shouldve talked to him, much less chased him. especially since he was only found with a gun from what i can find, and thats a constitutional right.

i just cant get behind what is essentially shooting a man you chased over a constitutional right, and some beer/liquor.

they didnt even get him on drunk and disorderly or anything too (again from what i can find) which means he wasnt overly intoxicated.

the whole thing is just shitty imo

Tldr: cops really shouldnt have been there at all, but dont fucking point a gun at them dumb fuck. deserved ig.
