It's worked pretty well here in the US (despite the controlled media reporting to the contrary).
Frankly, I don't see how anyone would not want their women to be empowered with a skill that provides protection, food for the table, and a fun recreational activity. Oh, besides pacifists.

Shooting is one of my favorite hobbies and I love collecting antique pieces. I definitely think knowing how to use a gun is important as a woman or as anyone; you always need to be able to protect yourself in this crazy ass world we live in.

Ask yourself this whats more idiotic the fact guns are forbidden to law abiding citizens who need them to protect themselves at home or the fact the criminals have access to guns to rob you at home knowing you dont have home protection? People who think guns should be banned are the ones to get robbed and shot because a criminal dont care that gun laws are passed....think about it
