The battle of Moscow.

This was nicknamed by the Germans, 'Operation Typhoon'. The battle started on October 2nd, 1941. The capture of Moscow was viewed as a vital to the success of 'Operation Barbarossa'. Hitler believed that once they take the heart of Russia - Moscow, the whole nation would collapse. The weather conditions in Moscow made the whole campaign very difficult.
