The Kauai serial killer and rapist is known to have murdered at least two women and injuring one between April and August 2000. All victims were middle aged with similar heights and weights, were sexually assaulted, were alone when attacked, were stabbed with a knife, and were on the west coast of Kauai.

On April 7, 2000, 38 year old Lisa Bissel from Hanapepe was found in a ditch near a state park. She had been raped, beaten, and eventually stabbed to death with her throat also being slashed. It's believe she was abducted off a road in Waimea where some of her belongings were found.

On May 22, 2000 the perpetrator severely wounded a 52 year old women in kekaha. She was working in her yard when the perp approached her and told her his name was John and was homeless. She recommended that he visits her neighbors home who often let homeless people camp on their property. As she turned around to continue working, the assailant forcefully took her behind the house and beat her, breaking one of her arms in the process. He then sexually assaulted her and eventually stabbed her in the chest in an attempt to kill her but the knife bent after hitting the victims breastbone. The assailant threw the knife in a bush and fled. It took the victims three hours to crawl and finally reach a telephone to call for help.

On August 30, 2000, the decomposing body of 43 year old women Daren Singer from Maui was found at a remote camp site near Pakala point Beach. She had been raped, stabbed in the throat and eventually beaten to death, with her face beaten almost beyond recognition. It was determined she was murdered at least twelve hours prior to the discovery of her remains. In Septemeber of the same year, more than 500 people attended the memorial service held for singer.

The surviving victim was able to describe her attacker to help produce a composite sketch of the assailant. She was flown to Honolulu and shown a police lineup and was able to eliminate two men as being the perpetrator but was unable to narrow down the lineup any further. Soon after, the police questioner seventy registered sex offenders on the island.

Sex offender Waldorf Roy Wilson would become the cases prime suspect. Waldorf was convicted of rape and kidnapping on Oahu in 1983 and was paroled on January 9, 1999, moving to Kauai after. Waldorf was again arrested for violating his parole on September 12, 2000. After being questioned about the murders, Waldorf DNA was tested against the perpetrators DNA but the results came back inconclusive and he was never charged with the murders.

Conclusion: despite producing and composite sketch of the perpetrator and having his DNA, he was never caught. The murders remain unsolved.
