Reports: Second NY prison escapee caught
MALONE, N.Y. — New York State Troopers have taken David Sweat, the second murderer who escaped Clinton Correctional Facility on June 6, into custody, according to news reports.
Fellow escapee Richard Matt was killed by law enforcement on Friday.
Just before 4 p.m. on Sunday, the Plattsburgh Press-Republican confirmed that Sweat had been shot in Constable, N.Y., just miles from the Canadian border. The New York Times reported that Sweat was "alived and in custody."

I always thought as an US- prison escapee you have to cross El Rio Grande and flee to Mexico.

Bet this guy didn't even get to have any creature comforts while he was out, just running barefoot through the fuckin woods. I really didn't believe he'd be taken back to jail, thought that he would die in a hail of gunfire.
