Thousands of Catholics flock to Missouri church to pray over body of 'miracle' nun who was exhumed after four years with NO signs of decay - as they call for her to be made a saint

The abbey which previously would receive no more than 20 visitors per day is now seeing about 1,000 visitors on a daily basis

After May 29, her body will be encased in glass, meaning visitors will no longer be able to touch the body

The church officials said they are investigating Lancaster's case, as incorruptibility can be a sign of sainthood

We as a species should all progress past touching corpses for mystical powers
'normal' IQ is 80 and above.

People 'believe' in all sorts of nonsense.

Pres Biden and many other 'leaders' will tell you a trans woman is a real woman.

Many believe the earth is flat and that little people are real and faries inhabit the garden.

Its species arrogance to think we are in any way progressing. We're going backwards and have been ever since objective truth was thrown away...

They dug up Abraham Lincoln in 1901 and found he still looked almost exactly the same and he was buried for ten times longer than this person.

And is it really suprising when the coffin is sealed, in cool stable temperature conditions, and the body is full of preservatives? Pharoah Rameses III is still in good shape too, good luck trying to make him a saint, maybe Anubis is the real God and furries are his chosen people.

I made an effigy out of plaster when I was about ten years old that looked more real than this fake assed piece of shit.

The high levels of Ugly acted as a preservative. Bugs and bacteria have standards and passed this corpse by.

“Covered with wax”. It wouldn’t surprise me if they hired the team from Madame Tussaud’s to make a corpse to drive up their income 😂.

Thanks for this interesting randomness to start my day!
Adipocere, "grave wax," is a waxy or greasy decomposition product formed by hydrolysis and hydrogenation of tissue fats. Once formed, it appears stable for extended periods. Adipocere has generally been considered to result from bacterial action, commonly in warm, damp, anaerobic environments. However, its frequency, rate of formation, factors affecting its formation and physical characteristics are not well defined. To study the frequency, time course, and effects of temperature and clothing on adipocere formation, we submerged human adipose tissue samples in aquaria under controlled conditions and conducted serial observations. Adipocere formed with high frequency, within a few months, in tissues submerged in warm tap water; similar changes took longer, 12 to 18 months in cold water submersion. Presence of clothing over the tissue appeared to accelerate adipocere formation.
