Guns Tough guys meets Glock

I think it's a huge old house that was separated into apartments. I lived in one that looked just like that. IT had 4 floors also...
Must've been a mansion then. I lived in a house that was 4 floors (or 2 plus a basement & attic) but at some point they made it into a duplex. It would've been an ideal 4-6 bedroom home. Only thing I disliked was it was creepy & there was only one bathroom on the floor w/the master bedroom. I don't know if it had one on the main floor ever but it would've been nice to have one there.

It was huge. The mayor lived next door. It had a full basement also. 6 bedrooms in total.

Mine was just flat out haunted. Admittedly, lots of bad things happened in it in the other portion, the "B" address. We lived in "A" but I could hear it. I was just little when I did & wasn't sure what I heard exactly until 7 years later. A guy was murdered in it & possibly another was stuffed into their wall. There were other very bad things that happened.
The guy who killed the one man (his father-in-law, for abusing his young son) may not have killed him there actually but he kept him chained in their basement for awhile. He was executed I was told but, not even for killing his father-in-law. Weird, violent world we live in.

When body's become part of the house there's going to be some spiritual goings-on should I say. It's only inevitable....
I believe evil attracts evil. So it just gets worse....

I think you might be exactly right! Or evil is purposely attracted to those who call upon it.
At one point there were weird symbols written on the stones in their basement too but I think it was there prior to the one neighbor (who murdered his father-in-law). The housing guys had language experts try to figure out what it all meant (how I saw it as a kid - because I was w/my one Dad who was a hyperpolyglot & they asked if it meant anything he might have books on) & then they just painted over it all.
In retrospect it looked very much like what was written on the walls in some movie that came out years later in 2014 I saw called Deliver Us From Evil, which was based on a book that came out prior to then. I looked into it after I saw it & the NYPD Detective who wrote it. I think I may have met him when he was only 19-ish. It looked very similar to this. πŸ‘‡

Sounds like they were having seances or exorcisms in that basement...

Rituals actually. The words call forth Mammon & offer a doorway for Mammon to enter through, atleast per the oldest translations that a group of Demonology "experts" & theologians could find. They agreed on some of it & disagreed on other parts of it. Whatever was written on the wall was not as neatly written like in that movie. They all agreed to it being some sort of (possibly demonic) ritual to open a gateway though. Ret. Det. Sarchie is still alive. He would know best & how many times he encountered the same kind of things. We lived in a predominantly Jewish area then. My one brother was his age, a Christian minister but theologian too & told me about it's meaning to call Mammon into your life & that Mammon represents wealth & it is some sort of gypsy type ceremony, to ask for wealth in an old Jewish ritual. I think only the Catholic persons that looked into it mentioned the Devil being involved. It makes sense in the movie that he encounters it multiple times & probably in other predominantly Jewish NYC neighborhoods.
