The rescuers were idiots. The one man who keeps talking tells them to pull him out through the window. It had not occurred to them. Then some Bozo starts to spray the fire extinguisher on the outside of the car, and so he tells them to spray inside. Oy vey.

Of course, we can see what happened while all of that was taking place.
