UK 16 and 17-year-olds to be able to vote in next general election

The voting age will be lowered to 16 across the UK in time for the next general election, the government confirms - here are the key changes announced today

Labour's election manifesto last year pledged to lower the voting age to 16 - in line with Scottish and Welsh elections

Tell us how the changes affect you: One student says it will give young people a say in their future, but another 17-year-old thinks the move will "backfire"

Keir Starmer says 16 and 17-year-olds are "old enough to go out to work, they are old enough to pay taxes"

But the Conservatives question why 16-year-olds will be able to vote but not "marry, go to war, or even stand in elections". Reform are against lowering the voting age - but the Lib Dems say it's a "no-brainer"

Great. All the brainwashed masses who couldn't tell their elbow from their asshole. It's even better than allowing illegal scumbags to cast a vote...
It's great to get kids right in the middle of wild progressive left education/brain washing and ship them to the voting booths to vote for progressive parties.

Just fucking great...

As if Britain doesn't have enougth problems...

Are 19 year olds turning to the right maybe?

Know nothing about UK politics.

My assumption is that Muslim families have an average 5 children per couple, and British only around 1.2. This means there are larger numbers of younger Muslims these days, and Labour have significantly relied on the Muslim votes to get into power (and totally fuck our country).

There are more older kids, and even my kids, moving to the right as what’s happening here is so bad. I used to ignore politics and have no particular views. In the past year I am firmly moving to the right.

I know Keir thinks this is a good idea but Labour are trying to ban mobile phones from schools, you think all those potential voters are gonna vote for the guy who took their Snapchat away?
Are they fuck.
Yes. Good point.

You need a party like the Australian Greens who will target anything that gets votes, no matter how offensive. They really went to town on Israel to get the Muslim vote. The party is full of real eco cunts...

Faruqi is a real pig. Here's a taste:

If voting works; we’ve been doing it wrong for at least 75 yrs-85yrs

So sad ... At 15 or 16 yo you're still a kid in your head no life experience no understanding of the world rules ... In France we have a proverb : " If you are not from the left at 20 yo it's that you have no heart , if you are not from the right at 40 yo it's that you have no brain !! " Today i am very very very intelligent !!
