Two people died and 25 were injured by snow falling from roofs in central Russia in one day.
The sudden warming caused the snow to become denser and heavier, causing the accumulated precipitation to fall from rooftops onto passersby. Most of the injuries were head injuries. Hundreds of entrance canopies were destroyed.
In some cases, snow fell from balconies, which are considered hazardous.
