I'm a fairly tech-savvy kind of guy and I always look for new technology that will entertain me on long flights, which I now have to endure more often. I spotted these and fancied trying them, so I indulged myself.
The specs.
The screen size inside the shades is 135" and runs at an impressive 120hz, which kind of blew me away tbh. With a 1000nits display, the edges are crisp the picture is flawless and the sound is more than ample. On pushing the mode button, I can have the shades with a light lens that I can walk around with while viewing the screen inside and off to jet black on a push of a button, so I can just view the screen inside my lenses. The audio doesn't leach out until it's cranked up to full, which surprised me. No distortion at all. You can adjust the glasses -+ 5 for your prescription, and can also take a prescription attachment for your wonky eyes if you have them.
There is an app called spacewalker which allows me to position the picture where I want. These connect to my steam deck, switch, phone, pc and can have a triple monitor display inside the glasses. It can also connect to the internet and I can browse and use my phone as a touch screen mouse pad. Which is pretty neat.
Now as they are alone without the neck band (will cost a further £300) I have one on order...should be here tomorrow
They do have limited productivity and are more geared around internet usage and movies. The neckband allows you to install apps on it, has a microphone and a bunch of other cool features.
Anyone else use these? What's your opinions? I personally love them, they aren't sun shades that you could just walk about with and use in an everyday setting, because they are expensive, and you'd not want to fuck them up. But for flights long times spent waiting, they are amazing. They are made out of aerospace grade aluminium. But I'd not like to drop the lens or damage the lens inside.
