I won't rest till pitta investigateA supermarket worker “burned to death” in a commercial oven while on shift at a store in Canada has been identified, as police investigate how the horrific workplace death could happen.
Gursimran Kaur, 19, worked at a Walmart in Halifax, Nova Scotia alongside her mother, who found Gursimram’s charred remains last Saturday night, local time.
Ms Kaur had only been in the country for a few years having moved from India, according to a GoFundMe page which has raised almost CA$158,500 (AU$172,300).
“Gursimran and her mother both worked at Walmart for last two years,” the page started by a local Sikh community organisation says.
“In that evening, like any watchful mother who breathes for her child’s happiness, Gursimran’s mother tried to locate her after not seeing for one hour.”
After being unable to reach Ms Kaur on her phone, which was “unusual” during the day, the mother “started panicking”.
“As you all know now, her charred remains were found inside the walk in oven in the Bakery after a few hours,” the page says.
“Imagine the horror that her mother experienced who herself opened the oven, when someone pointed out to it.”
It remains unclear how the young woman ended up trapped in the oven, which was large enough for a person to walk into.
CBC reports sources have said the oven does not lock.
“This investigation is a very complex investigation,” Constable Martin Cromwell said in a press conference this week.
“We’re working with occupational health and safety, (and) Nova Scotia medical examiners to determine the cause and manner of death.”
Horrible all around. Her mom finding her, can't even imagine.

Autoclave accidents? Do tell...Heard about that, yeah. You'd think people check stuff before the do something. It's like those autoclave accidents.
Allah Suckbar!!! Goat fucker lolThis is horrible to hear, may Allah have mercy
Maybe I can find it, but there has been at least one incident in recent years, where a hospital worker walked into the autoclave, which had a faulty door (she knew that as well) and got trapped. Another worker turned it on, she got boiled, the end.Autoclave accidents? Do tell...

Worker died after becoming trapped in industrial
A 48 year old Pirelli worker died after he was trapped for over two hours in an industrial autoclave, operating at temperatures of up to 145° Celsius, a court has heard.
George Falder was found dead inside the machine, which is used to heat up parts of tyres, at the company’s factory in Carlisle, Cumbria, after a colleague unwittingly closed the machine’s door and started its operating cycle.
The circular pressure door could not be opened from the inside and there was no way for anyone inside the five-metre-long machine to stop the cycle.
Carlisle Crown Court heard the autoclave was used to heat rubber tyre beads. During its operation, steam would be piped into the vessel under pressure, creating a deadly atmosphere containing little or no oxygen.
Mr Falder was last seen alive on CCTV footage at around 2.45pm on 30 September 2012. His body was discovered inside the machine at 6pm.
HSE found that, on some occasions, employees including Mr Falder had entered the autoclave to pick up fallen beads when the pressure door was open between cycles.
Despite this, Pirelli had failed to identify that the autoclave was a confined space that posed a serious risk, and had failed to establish a system to ensure it was checked before the door was closed and it was switched on. There were also no measures in place, such as instructions or signs, to prevent access to the machine.
Pirelli Tyres was fined £150,000 and ordered to pay £46,706 in prosecution costs after pleading guilty to a breach of section 2(1) of the HSWA 1974.
Speaking after the hearing, HSE inspector Michael Griffiths said: “George Falder’s tragic death has had a devastating impact on his family and friends. His colleague had no way of knowing anyone was inside when he switched on the machine because the company did not have systems in place to stop this from happening.
“Pirelli failed to identify the risk posed by workers entering the autoclave. They should either have prevented access, or made sure that the autoclave was properly checked each time before the door was closed and the operating cycle started.”
Yeah, that diving bell story is brutal. The only positive is, that these kind of accidents give insight and can help prevent disaster in the future. If you aren't Chinese that is.Thank you for that.
Not having a handle on the inside is just asking for trouble. Madness and massive lack of foresight.
i remember a case where a drunken woman in a hotel stumbled into the kitchen freezer and froze because she could not open it from inside.
I posted the autopsy report yesterday from an oil rig disaster where a door opening was the cause. Just can't win, door open, door closed...
