Serious What do you do with dead person's social media?

My aunt died a few years back, I continually get person's birthday arriving soon or you'll see her profile in messenger. I don't know her passwords, what do people generally do with a dead person's social media?

I have to say when my mother dies i don't think I could bring myself to delete hers but you'll get all these reminders.

What have you done with a friends or families social media after they died?

Most have a "they're dead "option, as morbid as it is, basically just half shuts the account off, you can still look at it but cant send anything and dont get alerts on it

If it's FB, a user can specify a "Legacy Contact" in which to manage the deceased account on their behalf - this is important if you want to preserve the account.

After they've died, you can send a memorialisation request

Their profile will then say "Remembering Mrs Smith"

I did this for my mother after she died - her account is still there but as a read only page. You can't access messages etc but you can manage other things such as the time line, spam friends requests etc.

My hateful family member did this to my facebook profile. Technically, I died on facebook sometime around 2009.
