animals What happens when you ignite half a ton of tnt under a whale?

In November, 1970, in Florence, Oregon, the carcass of an 8-ton whale was exploded using half a ton of dynamite. The deceased whale had washed ashore a few days prior, and the local authorities believed that the blast would propel its remains out into the ocean. However, the outcome turned out to be quite different. Instead, large chunks of whale blubber showered down onto the beach, and the entire incident was recorded on camera. The aftermath was priceless

They literally had a digger there and could have easily just pushed it into a hole and covered it over.
Their reason for not doing that was that something would uncover it. I thought they should burn it. Have a big ass bonfire!!

Listen.....this is why we don't hear about extraterrestrials anymore...

I think it'd be pretty funny if there were still people nearby the whale when it exploded or if the chunks of whale flesh fell on them
