Someone's prepared to write you a cheque (or check if you choose to spell like a savage) for any amount but in return you have to leave your current life behind forever. That means no contact with any family including spouse & kids, friends coworkers and even pets. You'll have to move anywhere of your choosing as long as its >5000 miles away from your current residence.
Id do the 1 billion, but with a twist, ill take it then just not kill myself, whatre they gonna do? Kill me?

Some interesting replies.

I'd have a problem leaving mom since she's declining and I know her time is limited but I'll be honest, the rest could be left behind for $.

My only other close blood relative is my brother and the reality is we don't really have much to do with each other's life and once mom has passed there will be even less. I have a few friends I love but they could be replaced, same with the GF. I figure whatever angst would come from leaving my friends, GF or brother could be dealt with in therapy. I would miss my cat.

A lot of folks, me included, have thought about going back and “correcting” various “mistakes”.

Maybe go back to junior high school, and stand up to that bully. Maybe go back to the day before the wedding, and call it off. Who knows.

Suppose there was some great cosmic figure that had the ability to grant that wish.

What if… what if we each actually were given that chance to go back? What if the life that we’re leading now is the life that we chose over the life that we had before we went back? What is this life is a vast improvement over the previous one?

Or, alternatively, we went back, and made the same choices as we did before? What if the universe continues to expand and contract, breathing as it were. And we continue to repeat the same actions/choices we have always made?

Or, alternatively, we were given the chance to live our lives over, and decided that it wasn’t worth it, and decided to go back to our “old lives”. It worked for Picard.

First of all, it would have to be cash. Secondly, the amount would have to be around $500k and third I get to choose where I go. Lastly, I do not have to disclose my destination to my "benefactor." If those conditions can be met then yes, I'd drop everything here and fuck off abroad.

Many people were traveling with Jesus. He said to them, “If you come to me but will not leave your family, you cannot be my follower. You must love me more than your father, mother, wife, children, brothers, and sisters—even more than your own life! Whoever will not carry the cross that is given to them when they follow me cannot be my follower.
Luke 14:25-27
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake will receive many times as much, and will inherit eternal life.
Matthew 19:29
I couldn't do it for money but I would for Jesus.
