It's absolute bullshit. They'd rather your home burned down. On your own fucking land.

The Council’s prosecution of Carter related to 13 healthy native tree species ranging in height from 3 to 10 metres which were cut down and lopped on residential land owned by the defendant, near Buffalo Creek.

The sentencing hearing occurred on 14 May 2018 in the Land and Environment Court before Moore J. The sentence imposed was, in summary:

  • A $45,000 fine;
  • The defendant to pay the Councils costs in the agreed sum of $30,000; and
  • Tree maintenance orders in relation to the health and integrity of the trees which were cut down or lopped which did not die.

This is what environmentalists in local government get you. The funny thing here is the conservative federal government is being blamed for the fires here and not doing enough on climate change when actually state forests and national parks are governed by state laws, not federal laws. The federal government can't interfere with anything else but this is the exception now apparently. Just forget the state lefties who stop you from doing anything on your own fucking property let alone shoot a feral fox in a national park, they'll take your guns off you. We can only shoot in state forests... I just wanna shoot the council's.

i gave thumbs down to what you told me,because i thinks its fucking stupid what they do. not to what you said. these council people seem to pick and choose what they feel,hu... specially where theres money to bemade. and thats a lot of fucking dough for some nuisance trees. yea,i feel you on wanting to shoot them fucktards. we have the same breed of due diligence of stupidity here. its frustrating.

There's a fine line between protecting what's left and just being stupid about it. Were being stupid about it, the urban sprawl puts people in new homes right on the edge of this shit, much like California I guess. There's not enough done to remove the fuel load, every stick is precious, the Aboriginals used to burn down the whole place in winter for 10,000 years and keep that shit in check, we can't even learn from that

i get it. its the same here. these builders build on land where animals been for decades,making new developments. the resident animals are fucked. kicked out of their homes,and have no where to go. so they migrate and wind up in ohter neighborhoods or in the same development. people are pigs. they leave trash out. and these hungry animals riffle through the trash for food. now they hit the lotto till the stupid human realizes whats going on. and then they complain about the foxes or coyotes in the area and decide to shoot them. this is where i blame the city government. they hear about new homes going up and all they think about it money. how much more money are we going to make off taxes on this development. not the domino effect. fuckin greed....

We have the same problem with kangaroos like you have with bears except kangaroos don't eat hikers. We've farmed or pushed them out with homes they have tiny patches of land left to get by on, plus to a kangaroo sitting up on a hill with its buddies a shiny looking road winding through the land looks like a river to them so they go down and end up killing you when they come through the windscreen as you hit them in your car at 100kmh. We've only got ourselves to blame really.

sure id like a house in the mountains amongst wildlife. but im going to do some homework first on where id build my cabin!

Actually I remember reading about someones dog carried away by a eagle or something there, one of those little lap dogs.. was close to a big national park or something. Same with coyotes eating Joe rogan's chickens after jumping the fence... You better check what sort of animals you wanna keep lol before you head into that

yes the eagles and owls. even the hawks. i have hawks and an owl near me. and foxes. i get nervous when i let the cats out. they have a better chance against the fox,than the birds. them cats wont ever know what hit them! lol

your cats have balls to go out lol, risk takers. We've got a lot of foxes too, fucking things are always looking around for anything they can fuck off with, lucky they don't eat babies yet like their bros, the dingo. We've got some baby falcons living in an old drain pipe at work, fucking things left a rabbits legs right at the door we go in, so they're doing the Lord's work
