movies Last Movie You Watched..

A hard day. 2014. South Korea.
8/10.
From the same writer/director as Tunnel but an earlier film.
A cop is involved in a hit and run and a witness contacts him to say to knows what happened. Partly similar to the I know what you did...films but alot better. There is a certain amount of tension in the film, but it's more of a cat and mouse style film by about the halfway point when the cop starts to slowly put things together. The director really learned from this movie when he made Tunnel. No real twists in the film but very interesting to watch.

Oasis. 2002. South Korea.
Romantic drama.
8/10
A slightly depressing film a bloke who is a bit of an idiot and a woman who has cerebral palsy. His family are tired of dealing with him and her family leave her alone in a little apartment, paying the neighboors to look after her and dropping in themselves once in a while. The end up in a relationship that pisses off both familys. The actress who played the character with c.p. was amazing. Every so often in the 2nd half of the film she would be normal as a way of 'daydreaming' for the character. As a whole is was a sharp look at how familys deal with troubled members. A challenge to watch because of the subject matter, but a moving and thought provoking drama.

The corpse of Anna Fritz. Spain. 2015.
6/10
A rape/revenge film with a twist.
A young famous 'actress' is brought in to the morgue, the young attendant and two of his mates take a look at her.
Two of them end up fucking her, she wakes up. From there the 'revenge' part of the film starts, but it doesn't play out like a cat-and-mouse game with her hunting them down with various hospital instruments. It would be a spoiler to explain it, but it is different.
The film is only 70mins and it benefits from that length. It kept my interest, but only because of the unique plot.

Rigor mortis. 2014. Hong Kong.
10/10
Asian vampire movie.
I'v seen this film a few years ago and quite liked it, i wouldn't have given full marks thou. Upon rewatching it i was still impressed. There alot of effects in the film and it plays on typical long-haired-nasty-spirit types, but takes it time to set up the story with a variety of characters.
The vampire is not like a western idea of a blood sucking ghoul, it only comes in near the end and it is the result of black magic on behalf of one person to help another. The reviews i read for it were kinda dismissive but fans of asian cinema should give it go.

Sudden impact. 1983.
5/10
The forth in the 'Dirty Harry' series.
And it kinda shows. I was working on a sketch and had it on in the background, listening to it was interesting and occasionally looking up at some points. There was a alot of 'set up humour' in the film with a interesting story going on but ultimitely it felt forced.

Thanks.
I don't use streaming sites, i find they only cater for the stuff people want to see. I do search them from time to time but Torrentz2 (torrent search engine) is how i get a list of options. The pirate bay or 1337x torrent sites are usually good for the obscure stuff. Letterboxd and IMDB are two movie apps i have on my fone. I'll look at the directors previous films and related films.

Lol...fuck-Dead pool!!! Still got a few hours on the sketch, i watch it next weekend.

I finally got around to watching Halloween (2018)

Solid continuation of the series, 8/10. Some things could've been done better, and there was that weird twist with the doctor, but overall I enjoyed it. I look forward to the next two installments, but fear they'll just be rushed, uninspired, cash-grabs.

Dirty Harry. The dead pool. 1988.
2/10
I had this on in the background while doing a few things. It's a interesting film but has 'cash-grab' written all over it. Sledge hammer the T.V. series had just finished in 1988 which was heavily based on those movies and there were a few 'tough cop/buddy cop' films being released around the same time, Lethal weapon, Tango and Cash, Another 48 hours. It has little moments through out it that are funny, but they really just feel stitched together, from there Dead Pool ends the inevitable slide to puerile shit that happens to any decent film that is a success.
The horror movie genre is littered with them.

Kopps. 2003 Sweden.
7/10
Quirky low budget comedy about a rural police station that is going to closed due to a lack of crimes. It has a charm about it with a tight knit cast. A few laugh out loud moments, and enough of a plot that with a run time of 90 mins it didn't feel like a chore to watch.
