Ok, so thoughts: if they resigned, I take it that the person they killed was innocent. This might cause some debate, but if you're not ok with dying.....you shouldn't be a police officer!!! Why would you want to be a police officer to begin with? The sexy uniform...the authority....

It doesn't mean the person they killed was innocent. It just means the cops made a stupid decision to shoot. It's possible the vehicle wasn't able to stop quickly because of the snow. It's pretty obvious the driver was trying to avoid them.

Yeah I agree completely, just like that school resource officer (cop) at the MSD high school shooting a few years ago. Hid under the stairwell while the shooter was rampaging thru the school.

Many times they resign while the shooting is in media then get rehired or switch departments after. What’s even more strange is many times they will loose the civil case or have the tax payers pay a settlement but still work as a cop. The burden of proof in civil (preponderance of the evidence) is much easier than in criminal (beyond reasonable doubt)
