It's been my experience that myself and those with all kinds of psycho-social disorders are a hundred times better at navigating life than those who claim to be (somehow more sane etc) because we've had to learn to adapt and cope and survive in all kinds of crisis, where many others would give up. I suppose my question would be - define sane? I understand your comments have a humorous slant and I shouldn't get prickly about it, I just have a great deal of respect for people who have found ways to deal with mental health issues and I had responded to the original post in good faith. Depression, Avoidant Personality Disorder (now better compared to my fucking school time) and some bits of Schizoid. Schizoid has not much to do with Schizophrenia, by the way. It's not a psychosis. It just means that I'm cool alone and don't need people around me to come through the day.

• Excessive preoccupation with fantasy and introspection.
• Neither desires, nor has, any close friends or confiding relationships (or only one).
• Marked insensitivity to prevailing social norms and conventions; if these are not followed, this is unintentional.
