I don't think it was pure stupidity. Yes, she should not have stood up while the bus was still moving, but isn't that going to happen anyway when the bus is full and some people have to stand? If you look outside the windows, the bus was making a sharp turn right before she was tossed out.
I think this was mostly the stupidity of the bus operator on display. With a missing door this would have happened eventually with a sharp enough turn and a high enough speed. It gets hot in India and the bus probably does not have air conditioning, so they most likely removed the door for extra ventilation.

The door might be open for air flow.
