The new casing looks pretty cool. Provided soldiers get sufficient training, the XM5 might actually be the game-changer they hope for.

Soooo does it shoot people deader and dispense a reward like chocolate afterward?
Or maybe it will have special features like it has a PS5 built into it?! Would be hard to have a war if the soldiers all have Skyrim on their guns.

For the amount of money and years of development it cost the US Govt (only for a private company to produce and make obscene profits from) We should at least get PS5s with it!

6.5x51mm/260 cal versus the proposed round of 6.8x51mm/270 cal, if it chambers in a 260 Winchester you 'will' get a nasty overpressure surprise.
Ah, yes, the 5,56 nato versus .223 Remington argument, only the purists go blue in the face over this one, as long as your chamber lead-in is long enough to take the heavier & longer nato round, all good, the .223 Wylde sounds interesting, will have to look at it!
