They are sturdier than Brazilian doors which are made of banana leaves and palm fronds though. The exterior doors at schools are quite sturdy. At least up in the northeast when I went to school. I don't know about in the newer buildings. The town I live in, schools lock the doors while in session. I think that might even be a state thing.

here in Texas the doors are pretty sturdy I'd say, the problem is managing to balance out safety and not making the whole place like a bunker with no windows or anything that someone can break through. The doors are pretty heavy and I'd assume it would take quite a bit to take down, the problem is the window, my school had a narrow but tall window on most class doors

It would take quite a bit for one person to get through. Even if it doesn't stop someone, it would slow them down significantly. I would imagine that in their safety training that kids are taught about line of sight. If not, it should be. Most kids probably understand the concept from playing shooter games already. They would need some guidance on how to apply that knowledge in real life settings.
