Are We Dangerous?

Remember this dummy, James Vance? He and his buddy shot themselves with a shotgun because a subliminal message in a Judas Priest song told them to. It actually went to trial.View attachment 589947
Little known fact if you stop any Judas Priest album at 6 minutes 66 seconds and rotate the record anti clockwise you can hear a rough devily voice saying this is shite this is shite.

We're to blame. Wars and violent crime didn't happen before the internet.
Exactly, its a daft question - i gauge it with "oh, this world is fucked" when there's been a shooting spree or a disaster - fuck me if there were cameras and videos around from the year dot im pretty sure people would be happy with this mostly civilised existance we all live in...

just look at all the fun people were having on the Bayeux Tapestry, the twitter of the 1000's.

I found a member's comment on Goregrish that said something along the lines of "websites like this contribute to the violence".

Could gore videos and discussions blur the line between what's good and what's bad even more than it already is? Are we implicitly and/or accidentally encouraging acts of violence?

My only opinion on all this is that watching gore may desensitize us to some events that our fear usually protects us/keeps us away from. Regarding the matter of encouraging violence, I have no clue if our jokes and comments could contribute to grow somebody's madness.
Absolutely not. If your violent you were before u came here. If anything this website would make someone be less violent/more cautious in the things they do in life. You don't wanna end up being featured on this site.

If being on here makes you wanna go out and kill somebody then you're mentally deranged needing some serious help and shouldn't be here in the first place.
True. But those people often don't think they need help, and they keep feeding themselves with gore and violence online.

So, in some cases, we indirectly and accidentally encourage violence, right? Or are we a consequence of it that doesn't influence anyone much more than else? That's my main doubt.

In any case, the only responsible for the violence committed is the one who commits it. So nobody's to blame but that person. But still... do we have a role in what brings someone to commit a crime, supposing that an hypothetical problematic individual spends time on GoreGrish?

P.S. I didn't mean to open a philosophic discussion. I'm just a researcher, and I'd like to hear many opinions on this matter so that we can get to a conclusion, either here or in our heads.

Wait what? Why?
Im nosey, do or dont.... Idc

It's funny how people defend their warped little hobbies of gawking at killing, death, and hate. Many of those that deny a connection blame media/books/movies for creating gays and trannies.

Islamic terrorists were normally radicalized with death media and religiously charged videos. Under certain circumstances for certain people almost anything can be a means to incite the mentally unstable.

It is the other way around for me. Watching and listening to all of the fake positivity and cheery propaganda from state media makes me want to pulverize some motherfucker's skull with a ballpeen hammer. Over here I can just talk shit while smoking a cigar and drinking beer, like I am sitting at a bar with pool table and slot machines and other entertainment I can choose on a whim.

If society decides to go all puritan and shit and remove all vices, the rate of actual violent incidents will increase dramatically because people have no place to chill the fuck out. Soviet Russia and East Germany had a very high rate of serial killers, cannibals, and psycho rampage murderers, far more than the western world. Communism and totalitarianism breeds nihilism.

Agree. Censorship on social networks is a huge problem too.
