Thoughts on selective empathy?

Is that Legendary Fuckwad?

selective empathy? what bullshit community college did you attend OP?

This is selective empathy: you know that nigger kid on worldvision ads that is dying with a vulture waiting to eat his delicious, moist eyeballs? filed under not my fucking problem as I change the channel to MasterChef, where I am overcome with emotion because Karen burned the edges of her lasagne and she's been voted out. Get fucked cunt.

"Some articles say it's a sign of a psychopath, but it is said a psychopath has no empathy at all."

Technically they are not capable of genuine empathy, however they can, and do, successfully act as though they do care.

I am the same, with what I don't even blink to, and not being able to tolerate animal, or far worse, children and infants, even in accidents or disasters. I believe its this: we have hardened ourselves to some violence, but our core moral values do not waver on what we can't and won't tolerate, like children and animals. It's arguable that hardening to most brutal violence is not healthy, but the fact we retain our core morals, which are unflinching, seperates us from the animals who commit truly heinous acts.

I've read a bit about so called "selective empathy" and am very curious to hear others opinions. I feel this is a good place to ask. I don't know if I believe in the idea that it's unique, seeing as in many situations I believe everyone has a different level of empathy towards different things. Some articles say it's a sign of a psychopath, but it is said a psychopath has no empathy at all. I find it very interesting how a person, including myself, can have very little to no feeling at all when it comes to strangers being hurt or dying, or hurting someone else, but can't handle seeing someone they care for, or more commonly a child or animal in distress. I feel like alot of people I've seen on websites such as this have the same reaction when it comes to seeing animal/child abuse. The stimga of these sites is that we are all sick and twisted, but I've seen some of the most caring people in places like this. Some of the most empathetic people I've ever met, have done some of the sickest things. I guess I'm just curious how many people believe in selective empathy. I'm still doing research because I can't figure out if I believe it's real or just a bunch of over thought medical nonsense. 🤔🧐
its real i hate people but love my family. i love watching gore but would die if my family suffered even a bit.

Selective empathy is the kind of empathy that 99% of people actually have, especially the ones who always brag about being "empaths." I think that real empathy - for strangers and all - mostly does not exist.

My opinion is you are a retard.

selective empathy..... interesting term. i despise people that hurt younger/smaller/weaker/humans/animals. a coach gun is my preferred tool for canalizing the cerebral cortex.
you'll remember me for the rest of your life, i promise you that.

Interesting topic, was going to start a thread about it. I've got very strong natural selective empathy. I can't control it as it is an automatic cognitive reaction of my brain. Always has been. 😶‍🌫️

I'm into gore for more than 20 years, and I feel literally nothing when browsing all these hanged Indians, smashed Mulattos, gunned-down Brazilians or beaten up Africans. I've seen the most brutal pictures and videos available and it doesn't bother me at all. I watch Gore sites before going to bed and never ever I had a nightmare or bad dream about the stuff I've seen. My brain just ignores it. Hell, I've to admit that even the Holocaust photos of the KZs don't activate a reaction.

On the other hand, I'm highly emotional and sensitive when people of my own race/ethnicity are harmed or killed. I feel internal, tribal rage when I see raped European girls or murdered couples in the USA. I feel sorry for them and I often wonder about whether was their last thoughts in life, what were they feeling while being killed and stuff like that. For example, that "Roses have whilted" diary of Katyln Nicole Davies bothered me for weeks, I watched all of her Vlogs she has uploaded prior to her suicide.

Does that make me a "passive racist"? 🤔Or is it just natural that I care for my people only, and that my brain says "whatever...who cares?" to all the other gorish stuff on the web?

Familial empathy. And sociopaths and psychopaths can experience aspects of empathy but it's often manufactured and used where there are voids - it's an assumption of empathy if you like which can be switched off and on. It's an understanding of what the other person feels without necessarily experiencing it personally

I reckon reckon reaction to kids duress is evolutionary, more noteworthy in females. Ambivalence to child harm is more common in men, again I think due to the evolutionary influence which I won't go into now as will be too long. Animals, probs because they've potentially never caused you harm and therefore you aren't emotionally barricaded and distanced from to protect yourself like you would be with human adults. Animals don't deserve duress as they are innocent. Apart from sharks, those fuckers are bastards.
