Beautiful images from a beautiful time. I'd have sacrificed EVERYTHING and frozen to death at stalingrad just to experience those 6 wonderful years of peace under the rule of Adolf Hitler and National Socialism. My grandfather grew up in the NS regime (even spent 5 yrs in combat) and his only regret was that he surrendered and survived. He was under the impression better to die than to see what became of this world.

I found a Hitler Youth badge once at a yard sale in a bag of buttons I bought for 25 cents. It's kinda surreal to find official Nazi artifacts still circulating among the general population. Makes ya think, there are probably alot of Hitler Youth still alive since they were so young when the Nazis came to power and they probubly still own alot of their original equipment. I know Pope Benedict was a Hitler Youth and served as an anti-aircraft gunner during the invasion in 1945. Wonder if he still has his Hitler Youth knife.
