In Greece, a 27-year-old Anastasia Rubinska from Wroclaw, Poland, went missing. Anastasia, who graduated from a hairdressing technical school in Wroclaw and worked as a hostess, was last seen on the Greek island of Kos, in the town of Marmari, where she was employed at a luxury hotel restaurant. There has been no trace of her since Monday. According to Greek media reports, "on the day of her disappearance, Anastasia had a day off from work. Her partner, who also works at the hotel, was on duty that day. The woman decided to go for a solitary drink. She met five men of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin who offered her help due to her intoxicated state. At 10:30 PM, she contacted her boyfriend. She was under the influence of alcohol. She informed him that she would return home on a motorcycle with one of the men. She did not return. She sent the location of her whereabouts (Tigaki in Kos), but when her partner arrived at the designated place to meet her, she was not there. At 11:30 PM, her phone made a call several kilometers away from that location, after which it was turned off."
The five men who met Anastasia that evening have already been interrogated. They claim that they transported the intoxicated woman to her home so she could recover. Later, as they stated, they left her in front of her place of residence. However, no traces of Anastasia's presence were found at the location indicated by the men. She was also not recorded on any surveillance footage.
Today, one of the men - a 32-year-old from Bangladesh - was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping. The interrogation has been ongoing for several hours. According to Greek media, in his statement, the 32-year-old admitted to having sexual intercourse with Anastasia, taking advantage of her intoxicated state. However, he claims that he later dropped her off at a store a few kilometers from his home. The police secured DNA samples from the man. An airline ticket to Italy, purchased after the girl's disappearance, was found in his apartment. The flight was scheduled for today. This fact is particularly concerning to the investigators.
There is also another troubling element. Numerous scratches were found on the body of the 32-year-old's roommate, who is also from Bangladesh. The man claims that they are the result of an accident that occurred a few days earlier. He has not been arrested yet, but the police have secured his DNA.
Investigators have also secured DNA samples from under the men's fingernails and hands. They will check if Anastasia's DNA is present there - DNA samples from the room where she lived have already been secured. The police are still searching for the missing girl, using specialized drones and tracking dogs.
There is update:
We have checked reports from several Greek media sources. According to these accounts, the following sequence of events is emerging:
Anastasia enters a small minimarket located in the Marmari region on her own. The owner of the minimarket stated in the media that she entered the store alone but left with someone. It was there that five men of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin allegedly approached Anastasia and offered her a ride on a motorcycle by one of the men. Anastasia informed her boyfriend about this. The girl's partner reportedly stated that he later received a message on his mobile phone instructing him to pick her up from a certain location near Marmari, but when he arrived, he couldn't find her. He then used an app to locate her mobile phone in a different place, but shortly afterward, it was turned off.
A few days later, the police detain five men of Pakistani and Bangladeshi origin. Four of them are released, but DNA samples are taken from them, and they are prohibited from leaving the country.
Meanwhile, the arrested man from Bangladesh claims in his testimony that he had consensual sex with Anastasia at his home but left her outside and hasn't seen her since.
This version contradicts the footage from surveillance cameras at his place of residence, where Anastasia was not present. It is also concerning that one of the roommates of the arrested man had scratch marks all over his body. DNA samples were also taken from him. The police are still working on resolving t he case.
