In general tips are based on service provided. Example, If seated, and your order is taken, food brought then your left alone until they bring your bill tip is easy .. 0% fuck them for not doing anything extra.
If your waited on hand and foot from seating to meal completion it's anywhere between 15 - 20 %
Base your tip on service provided and lower your percentage on that.
I've given tips and given nothing based on the service provided. I've also taken the time to explain my stance to service personnel. Most understand and to those that didn't.. well, fuck off and change jobs.. Lazy and privileged cunts 🙃

I've waited tables .I understand the whole "tipping ". But, I also tip when I order food out or dine. But, that little unappreciated prick is just a bitch. Don't complain when you don't get a decent tip. Especially for a $20 pie. $5 is very fair.

The whole point of tipping is that the USA allows people to be employed at rates they couldn't survive on. Fucktards like Donald Trump paying no tax getting rich off people's guilt complexes worrying if their tip (amongst other things) is big enough... Tipping is one of the many US customs that's a dumb socioeconomic model.
The film Zeitgeist is a good treatment of this situation.

I delivered Mexican food in SF, unique at the time, and when I started I though "People are gonna be psyched to get a burrito delivered." Most people tipped change - most of my "take home" cash was from taking money out of the till for gas and free food at the end of the shift. I delivered to some big ass houses in St. Francis Circle too, same shit. My takeaway - only do delivery if you have a car you're willing to destroy and NOT REPLACE. I made fuck all for a summer and had to buy new brakes.

At age 40, he saved over 5 million in his IRA. Roth fund. Then he retired. Using his pension and money from investments without even touching principle, he lives like he won the lottery.
2) Jack graduated from school, and went to trendy extremely expensive restaurants and exotic vacations. Didn’t have any leftover money so he had to rent. Even had to spend a lot of money at the laundromat. Of course he had to lease expensive cars. At age 40 Jack had nothing but a shit ton of bills.
