As an adult ... have you ever watched a kid movie or cartoon that actually made you cry? but you never admitted it.

I raised my daughter on my own as a single Dad.. I'll save the shit details - however - (and she's older now, got herself a boyfriend and moved in with him and all that shenanigans) .. Over the years I have watched hundreds of cartoons, Disney shows , animated movies etc... Tons of girl stuff like barbie and such. I's a DUTY as a Dad of a little girl .. I think. The other day I watched a movie I never saw before. It was an animated thing someone said I should give a look at. It was made using a sea shell and putting a googly eye on it and making a whole movie of it. Normally I would be a cynical smart ass and make fun of it , but, strangely.. I was emotionally touched by the story. I got thinking ... how just a simple cartoon or animated Disney movie can hit me in the feels so much - even worse when I least expect it. The part in the movie where it triggered memories of my own life struggles ... it's fucking amazing how movies can do that. I am interested to hear other people's opinions , experiences with this. Have you ever watched a cartoon movie or some children's movie and held back the tears cos it hits the FEELS so much? I think there's a special formula, like matching the vibe of the music with everything - it's like a weird Disney "Cry Hypnosis" for grown ups. or maybe the story just triggers shit we hide inside a lot. Anyway , was curious to get other's thoughts on it. What was the movie that triggered you? or what was the scene? that gave you BIG feels?

OMG yes my daughter's favorite I ended up getting the DVD of that and watched it to death.

UP & Coco. Old people make me cry.
I remember the first five minutes of UP.. that movie I did that weirdy thing where you bite your lip and pretend it's not actually sad.

Anything remotely emotional if I'm on my lady days, but I'm guessing this thread is meant for the boys.
no Girls too, I was on a quest to find people who experienced the same emotions but kind of felt weird having them. I made the thread cos earlier today I visited my mother and she is a batshit old lady these days .. and she was complaining about all the noisy kids that were at the mall earlier in the morning and I had to remind her it was because families were taking their children to the Multiplex cinema to see the new Inside Out , and Despicable me movies and kids get excited. She was like ... I don't know how grown adults can sit through all that and I felt weird having to remind her that we were ALL kids once and how I saw so many movies with JJ (My daughter) I sat in hundreds of movies and it's not all just rubbish. - got me thinking of how certain things tap into our emotions .

Sounds like your milk is coming in, and you’re pregnant.

I dunno who makes the music for sad bits on cartoons but I totally agree sometimes they really get me, then I feel a daft cunt for getting emotional, I've saw many many kids get hit by a cars on here and never felt myself well up like I can because some musical genius put a score over a cartoon dog that can't find his dad for example.

As a kid i watched that animation film "Where the Wind blows" from 1986 which made my cry back in the days.
It still hits me nowadays as a grown man.
I guess iam built near the water anyway, to use a german phrase.:aintnotime:

Mate .. my daughter when she was just 12 years old put me onto this .. she got me to download it so her and her friends could watch it when they had a sleepover. I was blown away at how young kids especially a bunch of 10yr old girls would be talking about such a movie and it seemed really old and weird but I downloaded it for them and put it on and watched it with them having not seen it before. It is a confronting and emotionally challenging film - you are spot on bud, that one proves that animation does not always mean "Made for kids"

You're about twenny years too late with that one :lulz: but yay I get it. I think life experiences is what opened my mind up to a whole lot of lifes bullshit and the world's million - baillion idiots :tu:
To answer your original question - Toy Story 3 got me in the feels. Andy was grown up, they were almost incinerated… I couldn’t take it, too emotional of a rollercoaster for me on that one.

All the shit we have to put up with in this life...the sad cartoons or shows act as an outlet to release some of that pent up depression...stress...
It's why I use music but play OLD stuff and the stuff that got me through my younger years through headphones really loud. Anything new just reminds me of how shit life has become.

That three seconds of Jurassic Park will remain one of life's biggest mysteries as far as being able to suck out a human's tears through tear ducts !!
