The Enlightenment is Humanity’s ONLY Salvation.
I’m a late comer to The Sooranos, I love it. I also love the 60s as a decade and this movie is about both. I enjoyed this movie a lot but I agree with a criticism i didn’t come up with. That this movie was too short for all the characters and they didn’t get fleshed out enough. This should have been a two part movie or miniseries. You don’t learn much about Tony’s dad, except that he’s absent. We don’t learn enough about Tony’s Uncle Dickie, one of the main characters. Not enough about Harold. Everything that is there and that we do learn I enjoyed.
The other criticism that I have seen a lot, but that I don’t agree with, or rather I agree they are right but I don’t care and it doesn’t make me like the movie less in a real way. This objection is that the characters from the original series who are done young the ages don’t match up. David Chase didn’t care for realism and consistency I guess. Also apparent the shooting through Livia’s hair because she is being annoying by Tony’s dad that was talked about in the series that was shown in the movie. What happens in the film isn’t exactly what they said it was in the series. The right people aren’t in the scene if I remember correctly from what I read. As I said they are right I guess but I don’t really care and am not a stickler about this.
