Killer definitely knew what he was doing. Dead guy was Brian Thompson, the CEO for UnitedHealthcare. He was shot outside of a hotel he was staying at for conferences in NYC. My guess is hitman was hired by a competing company or someone in his company whom had Brian in their way.

For someone like me living in the UK, where we do also have national healthcare, this is something I couldn't understand.
I had to look online how private healthcare works to understand the motives behind this homicide.
I used to watch ER, but I had completely forgotten about insurances and that they were mentioned a lot in the show.
