He sure is!!!Jimmie Walker Is Still Alive
He sure is!!!
Yea for sure it must have not been a hit or possibly even shown there. It’s weird which shows catch on across the pond and which don’t. Also which shows we make remake series from eachother Tv.Someone in TV land must've decided we would like Different Strokes more, that said Good Times was finished before I was even born so maybe it was on at the time but not popular enough here to be repeated.
Here's a bit of trivia for you, John Amos kept complaining the writers of Good Times were putting him in white situations that black families don't really get into.... so they fired him.
Some of your TV will be too American for us just like some of ours would be too British for you, I can't see an American enjoying Garth Marengi's Dark Place or BrassEye.Yea for sure it must have not been a hit or possibly even shown there. It’s weird which shows catch on across the pond and which don’t. Also which shows we make remake series from eachother Tv.
Not according to John.Well written
they really are natural born criminals and predators...but short of total extermination, they're here to staylol nah the show is about a poor black family, dad and mom with three kids. Living in a small apartment in the ghetto, south side of Chicago. They set it in the real “project”, that’s what we call urban ghettos.
I forget the name but it id a real place, one of the most crime filled areas in the United States in the 70s .
They are natural born killers like woody Harrison and Juliette lewis?they really are natural born criminals and predators...but short of total extermination, they're here to stay
the blacks have been the white man's burden for a long time now, and i suppose always will be
It takes place in the Southside of Chicago...Yea for sure it must have not been a hit or possibly even shown there. It’s weird which shows catch on across the pond and which don’t. Also which shows we make remake series from eachother Tv.

Really great stuff. Well written and good characters. Some episodes are really amazing and lmao funny.
One I can remember clearly despite not seeing it in over ten years is. One of the kids of the family sees in the trash of the an old neighbor lady who lives alone pet food and they know she doesn’t have a pet.
So the family invites her to dinner and she brings a not so good looking meat loaf and they are all scared it has pet food in it and every dog is passing it on to the next person and eachother cuz no one wants to take the first bite. It’s done really well, good stuff
Here is the episode for anyone’s delectation:

Good Times S02:E19 - The Dinner Party
As a working-class Black family living on the South Side of Chicago, the Evans’s try hard to make ends meet. There are many laughs along the way.tubitv.com
Yes in a real project. Breeny-Green or something. Ghetto as shit, it was destroyed in the 90s. They got rid of the projects. It takes place in the Southside of Chicago...
In the baddest part of town?It takes place in the Southside of Chicago...
It's not the buildings that make it "ghetto as shit", it's the inhabitants. You know that right?Yes in a real project. Breeny-Green or something. Ghetto as shit, it was destroyed in the 90s. They got rid of the projects.
Oh yea holy shit!!! It’s been so long since I watched it, over ten years. I remember now the character leaves yea. What’s Utopia? Some of your TV will be too American for us just like some of ours would be too British for you, I can't see an American enjoying Garth Marengi's Dark Place or BrassEye.
Amazon took Utopia, that I consider to be one of the best series that has ever been on British tv and americanised it.
Compared to ours, it's awful.
Yes, John Amos was fired from Good Times at the end of season three in 1976:
Reason
Amos clashed with the show's writers over the portrayal of African-American families. He felt the writers didn't understand Black families and that the show's comedy was too low-level. He also criticized the writers for focusing too much on Jimmie Walker's character, J.J., and not enough on the other two Evans children.
Amos's perspective
Amos said he felt he knew more about Black families and fatherhood than the writers, who were not Black. He also said that he wasn't the most diplomatic and that the producers got tired of having their lives threatened over jokes.
Not according to John.
lol no it’s the buildings too dude. If you saw these cement projects you’d agree. In the baddest part of town?
