In the 90s when you used to see an advert for Peugeot or something where the car was flying around hills and mountains the number plate was always something that could be read the same both ways. Then for the uk market etc they would just flip the image. The plate would always be something like 101wYw then it would look like the car was driving on whichever side the country of the advert was aimed at and the steering wheel would be on the correct side.
