To be perfectly honest I have no sympathy for this girl... First thing a 12 year old shouldn't be on the internet in a webcam chat... that was a failure on the parents part. Secondly she had sex with a guy who had a girlfriend and she KNEW this! Thirdly she was given chance after chance by moving to new towns and such to get a fresh start and she decided to make the same bad choices.. And instead of going to someone for help she makes a youtube video... I know this may be an unpopular opinion but we are better off with out her.

I have to share a story with you. When I was in high school we had a girl named Rhonda Whitty. She was the meanest bitch I ever met! She got pregnent by her boyfriend that year and was running around school with her fat belly. We also had a Special ED program. One of the special ed kids lived in a boarding home next to me and I had befriended her. Rhonda Whitty teased this poor girl to tears every day and it made me so fucking mad! I was just a spit of a girl, not 5' tall and all of 90lbs soaking wet, so when I went up against Rhonda and her friends they creamed me. One day I went into the girls bathroom with a black marker and wrote a not on the wall: To Rhonda Whitty, I hope that your baby is born with brain damage and lots of physical defects. I hope that you cry for this. I hope that your child comes home crying EVERY SINGLE DAY. Then, and only then, will you understand the pain you cause others. Fuck off and die and I hope your child is one fucked up ducky."
Of course I didn't sign my name, I didn't wanna die or anything, but I think I got my point across because she never teased my friend again. Bless your little one, I wish I could just channel some courage and strength right to him! He has half the battle won already though, because he has YOU for his mother.

You must have scared Rhonda Whitless....and good on ya for sticking up (albeit anonymously ;)) for your friend.

Everyone has their opinions on suicide. Many cannot understand it while those that have been down that road can empathize. Some might think that this girl deserved it, or that she was stupid, that she should have known better, or that they don't have an ounce of sympathy/empathy for her situation.

This is just a short story about a 15 year old girl who made a few mistakes and found the world as she knew it had turned against her.

This girl could have been one of our daughters, a sister, a cousin, a niece, a previous friend.

15 Yr Old Girl Bullied - Commits Suicide

(CNN) -- Her YouTube video started out innocently enough. The Canadian teen, her face obscured from the camera, held a stack of cards each filled with messages in black marker.

"I've decided to tell you about my never ending story," the card in Amanda Todd's hands read.

At this point the viewer may have no idea that they are about to be led on the most agonizing journey, one that pushed the premier of British Columbia to issue a stern warning against bullying, a journey that has birthed a Facebook page with thousands of people commenting many offering condolences.

In the soundless, black and white video, the teen showed one card after another. Each card painfully sinking the viewer deeper into the anguish too many teens have experienced.

"In 7th grade I would go with friends on webcam," the card in the teen's hand read.

The next few cards reveal that the teen began to get attention on the Internet from people that she did not know. People who told her she was beautiful, stunning, perfect.

"They wanted me to flash. So I did one year later," the cards said.

The teen then got a message on Facebook from a stranger who said she needed to show more of herself or he would publish the topless pictures he had taken of her.

"He knew my address, school, relatives, friends, family, names ..."

On Christmas break, the police came to her home to tell her that photos of her were sent to "everyone."

She pushed the next card very close to the camera.

"I then got really sick anxiety major depression and panic disorder. I then moved and got into alcohol and drugs."

She says she struggled with anxiety, rarely went out for a year. And then the same man appeared again with a Facebook page that displayed her topless as his profile picture.

"Cried every night, lost all my friends and respect people had for me ... again ..."

She was teased and felt as if she could never erase that photo. She started cutting, a form of self-injuring act that psychologists say is an impulse-control behavior that sometimes accompanies a variety of mental illnesses.

At school, she ate lunch alone until she moved to another new school.

"Everything was better even though I sat still alone," the next card read. "After a month later I started talking to an old guy friend."

LZ Granderson: Being bullied is hell, but life gets better

She thought the guy liked her even though she knew he had a girlfriend. One day he asked her to come over because his girlfriend was on vacation.

"So I did ... huge mistake ... I thought he liked me," she held the cards in one shaky hand now, using the other to brush under her eye as if wiping away a tear.

A week later the guy's girlfriend showed up at her school with a posse of 15 others. A crowd gathered. The girlfriend berated her screaming that nobody liked her.

"A guy than (sic) yelled just punch her already ..."

She was punched. Thrown on the ground.

"I felt like a joke in this world I thought nobody deserves this," the next card reads. "Teachers ran over but I just went and layed in a ditch and my dad found me."

When she got home she drank bleach.

"It killed me inside and I thought I actually was going to die."

In a wired world, children unable to escape cyberbullying

She was rushed to a hospital to flush the chemical out of her.

She put the next card almost flush with camera so that the viewer can no longer see her and only sees "After I got home all I saw on Facebook- She deserved it and did you wash the mud out of your hair? I hope she is dead."

She moved in with her mother in another city, to another school. But her past followed her.

"6 months has gone by ... people are pasting pics of bleach, clorex (sic) and ditches ... Everyday I think why am I still here,"

Her struggles with anxiety and cutting had gotten worse and even despite counseling and antidepressants she still was rushed to hospital again after an overdose.

The last cards say simply: "I have nobody. I need someone. My name is Amanda Todd."

The video has garnered the attention of many including the premier of British Columbia, Christy Clark.

"No one deserves to be bullied. No one earns it. No one asks for it. It is not a rite of passage. Bullying has to stop. Every child has to feel safe at school," Clark said in a You Tube video posted Thursday.

On Wednesday, Amanda Todd's body was found in her home, police in the Vancouver-area city of Coquitlam said. She took her own life.

She was 15.

It makes me so sad everytime I see something about Amanda Todd's story. I hope her bullies got a taste of their own medicine at least.

I honestly don't feel any sympathy for these people. The world has no place for those who lack the backbone to even make it through high school. If they can't handle their teens how the fuck do they expect to live in the real world?

I agree with you but to me it seems like it is harder to get away from it online - if you truly are trying to get away from it all. This guy emailed pics to everyone of her flashing her boobs. I really don't think she was thinking of the repercussions that might and did come from it. Even if she deleted her facebook they can still send the pics out again if they know where she moved to... It is so sad.

In January 2014 there was a 35 yr old male Dutch national charged with various crimes such as child porn, extortion, internet luring (males and females), and criminal harassment that spanned the UK, the Netherlands and Canada.

As of April 2014 he was named as the prime suspect who was luring Amanda. No word yet on court proceedings, jail time, etc.

Hell, If I ever get children, I wanna be there for'em,
You had a child since your post? He/she can't be very old if that's the case. When your child gets a little older I guarantee there will be times you will need a break. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. I'm not saying it's okay to sit them in front of the television or video games all day but having some time to yourself is healthy and will make you a better parent in the long run.
