Hydromorphone may be a useful drug given in the hospital setting in IV form, but for opiate users with high tolerances get nearly no effect or pain cessation from the pills they give you and it’s not even better than higher dosages of oxycodone. It’s overrated and is useless and dangerous even to expect to help long term users of stronger opiates. I’m not sure about the kidney stone thing but it still shouldn’t matter if the patient is a long term opiate dependent patient taking high doses of other drugs like OxyContin, Fentanyl, MScontin, or of course heroin.Dilaudid is a morphine derivative that is a very strong pain killer. If you've ever had or seen anyone with kidney stones, Dilaudid is the pain killer of choice to take the pain away. It's also usually given with Zofran, an anti nausea medication, because a lot of people usually get sick from the rush that Dilaudid brings on.
