Yep, it all depends on the direction and angle of your impact. She basically hit the ground head first. Heaps of people have died just from a standing position if they get hit or fall off a chair etc but land head first.
It's amazing though because I recently saw a guy fall off a building onto a car and walk away! LOL it's a weird science.
