Honestly, I'm pretty tired of this whole issue with the islands. It was just something the military during the dictatorship did to distract the public from the economic problems that they themselves (the junta) were causing.
What did we gain from that? Absolutely nothing. Oh well, we managed to ensure that our relations with England are permanently tainted by this specific episode, and if there was ever a real possibility of reaching a peaceful agreement with the United Kingdom (such as shared sovereignty, for example), those possibilities no longer exist.

So I've always found it completely hypocritical that so many Argentines love soccer, even though it's an "English" sport, and even more so that they then have the nerve to insult you if they see you wearing the Union Jack, despite that fact.

Governments are one thing, people are quite another. There's no animosity towards the English outside of the typical rivalry that might arise in football, or when it comes to discussions about the islands.

There's a significant English community living in Argentina, and nobody's going to treat them badly for being English, quite the opposite, english people receive the same warm welcome as any other foreigner.. There's no such rivalry between our peoples. What we do between the people of both countries is sit down and share a beer, or an asado, regardless of what language barriers might be:




Everything else falls into the realm of what might be merely a discussion, or a football rivalry where both sides are quite passionate about it. Nothing more.

Argentina is currently in the process of deporting undocumented immigrants (similar to ICE). Regarding Muslims, they are welcome as long as they don't engage in any of the foolish practices associated with their culture. That's why they practically never come here; in fact, I've been traveling around this country for 47 years and I've never encountered one...

Unlike other countries, Argentinians have no tolerance for cultural nonsense and its imposition. For example, if you start praying in the middle of a street stopping traffic, at the very least someone will get out of their car and beat you up and nobody would care. That's why it's very common for people from other countries who behave badly elsewhere to behave well in Argentina...
