The Sparkman High School community is mourning one of their own after a student apparently took his own life.

Christian Adamek, 15, hanged himself Wednesday and died this morning from his injuries, Madison County Coroner Craig Whisenant said today. Adamek's death came less than a week after he was arrested for streaking across the Sparkman High football field during the Senators' Sept. 27 football game against Grissom High School.

The Madison County school district issued a very brief statement saying it had "received word that a Sparkman High School student has passed away."

"Our prayers and thoughts are with the family during this time of bereavement," the statement read.

Twitter exploded immediately with news of the streaking incident the night it happened and the commentary continued in the days afterward. A video of Adamek streaking naked across the football field was also posted to YouTube.

The conversation on social media took the situation lightly in the first few days, with some students calling Adamek a "legend" and laughing off what he had done.

The school district was taking the incident much more seriously, however. Though Sparkman High Principal Michael Campbell declined to comment on Adamek's death today, he told AL.com/Huntsville's news partner, WHNT News 19, on Tuesday that the incident Adamek was accused of could bring the teen major repercussions.

Adamek had been disciplined by the school district, though details of that discipline were not made public, and he faced legal charges. Sparkman High administrators recommended that Adamek have a hearing in the Madison County court system to determine if formal charges would be filed, WHNT reported.

There's the legal complications," Campbell told the news station. "Public lewdness and court consequences outside of school with the legal system, as well as the school consequences that the school system has set up."

Adamek's sister indicated on Twitter that her brother was facing expulsion.

Since his death, the Twitter conversation about Adamek has taken on a somber and heartbroken tone.

"Praying for the Adamek family. Christian was so funny and nice. He will be missed by so many," one girl wrote.

Another student wrote that his "thoughts and prayers go out to the Adamek family."

"No parent should ever have to bury their child," the boy said. "Rest in peace Christian."

Your being bullshitted.Only a week after being arrested isn't enough time to accurately find out when your court date is.Much less learn and accept you will be convicted with the penalty of being a sex offender.Thats like crashing your car and 3 days later killing yourself because you thought you would go to prison for the rest of your life for totaling a car.If only in a span of a week he accepted he would be a sex offender.Even if somebody told him that.It kinda makes him look like a goddam idiot .Think about it,would you hang your fucking self.Or would you realize there is a very slim chance that would happin with a half decent lawyer or even a crappy plea bargin.
