I think it's golf. He'll take a mulligan and try again.Golf reference or Irish pejorative?
Well they just lost all those savings.Using multiple forklifts instead of a crane saves money. Right?
Yeah, it's like when the Romans built the Pantheon. They used this very expensive form of concrete that contained a self-repairing additive called pozzolanic ash, and thus the building has stood for 2000 years. Modern concrete manufacturers know they can add this or similar additives to their mixtures and make concrete last for thousands of years, but because it's more expensive they don't add it, so buildings begin to crumble and fall down after a few decades (like that residential building in Florida). Short term savings vs. Long term savings is still something humans can't wrap their minds around because the average human is a fucking retard and the smart humans more often than not just exploit the stupidity of the others by selling them the short term solution for the price of the long term one, then charge them over and over again to fix the same problem when failure inevitably keeps resulting.Well they just lost all those savings.
I feel like the modern business model is company's want stuff to break. They need you to come back, and buy more.Yeah, it's like when the Romans built the Pantheon. Excellent post. Imo blame the very first Fork lift operator. He did not synchronize with the others. One man can bring the entire team down.
Ever heard of the lightbulb cartel? It was created by Thomas Edison to fix not only the price of lightbulbs but also the length of time they could be used across all manufacturers. It was called the '1000 Rule'. In order for your company to be allowed into the cartel your lightbulbs had to fail after either 1000 hours or after being turned on an off 1000 times. The cartel would test your bulbs to make sure they abided by these standards. Some early lightbulbs made before the cartel still operate to this day over 100 years later, an incandescent bulb has no real reason to ever go out unless it's designed to do so due to built in obsolescence.I feel like the modern business model is company's want stuff to break. Apple was the most recent company to do this when they purposfully destroyed the iphone 5 in 2017 with a malicious software update that bricked the phones and ultimately pushed their users into buying the new iphone 7.
They should stand a bit closer. And there goes the train wagon...
