Has anyone used ketamine either recreationally or medically? I had a bad accident a couple months ago and was given large doses of ketamine and fentanyl at the scene and in the ambulance and it gave me scary hallucinations. I can't imagine using it for fun but then again I wasn't in the mindset of fun to begine with. Just curious anyway.

I once took some shit E that had been laced with ketamine. I did not get the reaction I was expecting. My pupils pinned down to microdots, and I felt disconnected from my own body, ill, and slightly crazy. [Well, more crazier than usual, anyhow]

Never ketamine recreationally or medically and fentanyl only medically. Fentanyl is a WONDERFUL drug, and very much enjoyed its effects. If I were to develop a drug habit* and knew I could get pharmaceutical grade dope fentanyl would be my drug of choice.

*Just to be clear, I have no desire to develop a habit. Just saying that if I were it wouldn't be coke, meth or any other stimulant. I have a bad reaction to some opioids but tolerate fentanyl very well.

Different experiences. I liked propofol, it made me go nappy time instantly (I can understand why Michael Jackson was hooked on the stuff) but at least at the dose they had me on I didn't really experience much other than sleep. Fent just makes me feel warm & fuzzy all over like I'm wrapped in a fleecy onesie, no pain and I still had the ability to communicate. I get very flirty and at least in my mind think I'm one funny mother fucker.

I've used it for both. Recreationally my experience was ok I guess. It felt like a cross between ecstacy and mushrooms, but I felt way more paranoia. I had it medically for six surgeries and I did not experience any hallucinations, just pure fucking awesomeness.

As the hippo said above I've had it in E's but I was only told it probably had it in because I remember next to nothing once they kicked in, I remember turning up at home without my wallet, my weed, my much loved Sharp GX10 flip phone or my keys on Xmas morning though.

I was offered some Ket in a bar on my works Xmas do just last month, I declined.
I still woke up with a mysterious twisted ankle but it was certainly way better than losing all my shit.

I used to take it recreationally as a student quite a lot. But we only had small amounts, and always after having stimulants like MDMA. This minimised the risk of a ‘k-hole’ which, from what I have seen in other people, is horrible. In low doses, after a stimulant, it adds to the ‘loved up’ feel and slows down time perception making a decent night last longer.

My dealer was a PhD Chemistry student who got pure stuff via a veterinarian he knew. And sold it in perfectly evaporated crystals he prided himself on creating. So this helped ensure a good experience.

It’s very safe to use in humans for emergency purposes, including in babies. However, long term use can lead to various problems. I met one patient that had to have their bladder removed due to damage caused by ketamine addiction.

Never mix a dissociative anaesthetic like ketamine with opiates, alcohol or other hallucinogens. Unless you want to go mental or die.

As I am one week off 3.5 years sober, this is all in the past for me.

Yeah, one of my buddies paroled at my apartment and was huge on ketamine. As a long term side effect, he would have to piss literally every 15 minutes, and I'm not exaggerating. He said it was because of the K... Do you know what does it do to cause that?

See I had paramedics doing it and I think they were flying by the seat of their pants so to speak. I hallucinate so badly that when they did a needle decompression procedure to treat my punctured lung I experienced it as a criminal stabbing me with a knife and when I started coming around I was accusing the paramedics of murdering me even though I was obviously alive and talking. It was bizarre to say the least.

At the rave parties in the 90s, ketamine was called special k. Fun party drug but if you do too much you go into what they call "the k hole".
You get pushed back in your chair, unable to move and serious tunnel vision hits.
Physically tho its very relaxing to the muscles.
