engineered food

i hear and see more and more of foods that are engineered. not the real deal but supposed to be a fill in for it. im not a believer in it. the fruit and veggies especially. theyre the ones that are supposed to contain all the health benefits and anti oxidants and blablablabla...
"oh but mr consumer they do"
really? a gmo vitamin and gmo anti oxidant? no thanks. even the meat and fish are fucked with.

I thought the advent of synthetic food was the science fiction dream of the 1940s and 60s. If it looks and tastes like real food, so what?

not real. all chemicals.
paying the same amount of money for fake shit as if it was the real deal.
would you pay full price for generic brand? because if so,might as get the real deal. right?
Playing devils advocate. Everything is a chemical. Water is a chemical. What the problem is, is that processed food is made up of synthetic chemicals our bodies were never designed to consume. Combine that with our modern sedentary lifestyle and access to food at all times (constantly eating is not a thing in nature) you get the obesity, heart disease, hypertension, cancer, and diabetes of today. Yay progress.

Lets leave the cities and just get back to nature...We'd be dead by 30 but would die in good health and with perfect teeth.

Let's not get crazy. I love me some modern conveniences.
Well, just between you and I, I don't have that kind of power...

I love reading about how their lives were though. I've done a lot of camping and hiking through pristine wilderness in Aus and can visualise what is must have been like to have your whole world one great huge park filled with animals and rivers etc.

I saw some snapped flint blades once at Cambridge uni in a museum they had there. these blade were beautifully formed and stil razor sharp even after 20 000 years. To be able to produce a product like that from hand from a bit of flint is an amazing skill.

But I do like a good movie at times...

Yeah I hate camping. I am an indoors kinda girl.

I'm a nature bottom, I love being beaten up by the weather. Give me a tarp, some rope and tent pegs with a massive thunder storm approaching and I'll whip up a shelter you'd die for!

I'll post some pics of camps I've made.

The great thing about the kind of camping I do is that when you get home you appreciate hot running water in a whole new way...
