In my state the company can give you a license to drive the lift at the company location only. That’s how I use the lift without the schooling

Illinois don’t give a fuck lol. They let the company do the training. I had to drive and move freight in fort of the supervisor who is legit lift certified, then pass a written exam.

Dodgy factory operators just hire anybody to do it. When I used to be a delivery driver I was amazed how many people would hop in a forklift and unload a truck and there's no fucking way most of them had any training or a forklift license. Saw a lot of near accidents.
