Game Idea: “Mass Shooting”

I’ve an idea for an asymmetrical 7-player multiplayer game titled “Mass Shooter”.

Two players will be the shooters. You can choose your weapons, use tear gas, wear armor or tactical gear, etc…the shooters are modeled off notorious killers like Eric and Dylan, James Holmes, Cho, etc

Five players are the survivors. They are not armed, their goal is to sneak, hide, and find a phone to call authorities. If the call is made, a countdown starts til police arrive, ending the shooter’s rampage.

Survivors can play dead amongst dead bodies, with a prompt to hold your breath and stay still. The killer can finish you off if he notices you’re alive. Med kits can be found if you’ve been hit with a non fatal shot. Things like radios can be used to distract the shooter.

A survivor can attempt to wrestle the gun away from the shooter but this will be extremely risky and difficult, almost never happening successfully.

Locations include a high school, college, mall, church, grocery store, and concert.
Alternatively hang yourself and record it for us

I wouldnt mind a mass shooting game with the realistic gore of Dead Island 2, sadly that would never be approved by any studio nor allowed on Steam.

Take an existing game and mod it

Learn C++ and OpenGL and make it yourself, no ones going to make a dbd rip off for mass shooters. There was already a similar game on steam and it was taken down within hours. Dumb idea and there's already games similar (hatred, dbd, manhunt, etc..) Plus, asymmetrical games never do well because DbD has that genre locked down with all their licenses, I've seen more asym games come and die within a month than cartel videos on this site.

To add on to what DOA said, just take a game and mod it, or you could even make a shitty ass gmod world. Plenty of open source code to modify.

There already was a game called Active Shooter and it was available on Steam:

Active Shooter, a school shooting game, removed from Steam following outrage.

A game developer attempted to profit off a game simulating school shootings, but the immediate backlash appears to have curtailed those efforts.
Visible on Valve's wildly popular Steam marketplace Tuesday morning, Active Shooter was slated for release June 6, and appeared to let you play as a SWAT team member or an active shooter in various scenarios. The game included school settings complete with rows of desks, a school gym and hallways lined with lockers.

I was able to find a copy of the game available on Archive.org, but at this moment the site is temporarily unavailable. I also found a link to a zip file containing the executable. I found no malware or viruses but I didn't actually install it. It does seem to be legit:

1. Download Ready or Not on Steam.
2. Play it, immersing yourself in it's challenging levels and it's environmental storytelling
3. Arrive at a level titled "ELEPHANT"
4. Enjoy! There are multiple shooters at Watt Communtity College. Lead your entry team through the science wing of a community college rescuing civilians and diffusing the bombs they rigged at random areas on the map.

Um no. We don't want to rescue the students, we want to shoot them.
